The Versailles Palace is the most beautiful castle to visit near Paris. Le Chateau de Versailles is located 20 kilometers from Paris and it takes only 30 minutes to go there by metro, with the RER line C5. It is open every day except Mondays. Three million visitors come to Versailles every year.
The King Louis XIV of France transformed his Little hunting lodge into a palace. Louis XIV was called the Sun King. He lived at the Palace of Versailles with abundance and with 10 000 residents. The castle is a big attraction and there is a lot to see!

Outside, the Grand Cafe d'Orleans is more for sandwich and snacks..
In the gardens, La Brasserie de la Girandole and Le Parmentier de Versailles with its specialty Le hachis parmentier.
Near the Grand Canal, La Flottille is a restaurant brasserie and La Petite Venise is an Italian restaurant.
Near Le Trianon, you find the tea shop Angelina.
