Salle Pleyel

The Salle Pleyel is now closed. It was considered one of the best concert halls in Paris. Designed by the Architect Gustave Lion, and opened in 1927. The venue was built specially for hosting classical music concerts. The Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France were the resident ensembles at this time.

The Pleyel was managed and owned by the Cité de la musique (City of Music). The Cité de la Musique is a group of music institutions in Paris. The Pleyel concert hall had 2000 seats. The address was on 252 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore Paris 8th arrondissement at the metro station Ternes or Etoile.

The excellent music program has been moved to the Philharmonie de Paris. The brand-new concert hall in Paris, opened in January 2015.
