How to visit Paris by arrondissements

Paris 1st, 2nd arrondissement 

Two main squares in Paris in the 1st arrondissement, the Palais Royal and the place Vendome. The Louvre Museum, the Orangerie Museum are the most visited museums. Walk in the Tuileries Garden, front of the Louvre Museum. Visit the Louvre des Antiquites with antiques stores. Angelina tearoom is one of the favourite places in Paris for hot chocolate and French pastries. The first arrondissement in Paris has the most prestigious hotels.

The 2nd arrondissement is also located in the Right Bank of the Seine River. Visit the Bibliotheque Nationale of France, an historical monument. The Paris Bourse, Paris Stock Exchange on the place de la Bourse.

Paris 3nd, 4th arrondissement

Paris 3rd and 4th arrondissement are one of the best arrondissements to find small walking streets. The Marais is one of the oldest quarters in Paris. Spend some time in the Marais. It's worth it. There are many small stores, restaurants and cafes. The Musee Carnavalet is a free museum about the history of Paris.

The Musee of Modern Art is right inside the Pompidou Centre. An attraction cannot be missed for the kids. Les Halles is a favourite place to spend time especially during the summer. Les Halles contains also a large shopping gallery.

Paris 5th, 6th arrondissement

The 5th arrondissement is the Latin Quarter. Where you find the most prestigious school in Paris, La Sorbonne. The Pantheon is the most famous attraction, a burial place for notable peoples, Victor Hugo, Marie Curie and others. Enjoy few museums in the fifth arrondissement, National Museum of Natural History. Kids love the dinosaurs room. The Jardin des Plantes is a botanical near the museum.

Paris 6th arrondissement has also a part of the Latin Quarter and the Saint-Germain-des-Pres Quarter. Place of cafes and restaurants. The Luxembourg Gardens is a famous park with fountains in Paris. The French Senat. During the summer, you find open-air concerts. Best historical restaurants in Paris the Cafe de Flore, Les Deux Magots and the Cafe Procope.

Paris 7th, 8th arrondissement

The 7th arrondissement of Paris is a favorite arrondissement for tourists. The Eiffel Tower is the most visited. Find also near the Iron Lady, the Champs de Mars, the Trocadero. One of the best museums, the Museum d'Orsay with the Impressionism painters. The Musee Rodin displays most famous sculptures, The Thinker, The Kiss.

The 8th arrondissement has one of the most beautiful avenues in the world. The Champs-Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe. It takes at least half day to walk up the Champs-Elysees. Fancy stores, hotels, restaurants. The Elysee Palace is where the President of France has his residence.

Paris 9th, 10th arrondissement

The 9th arrondissement is the favorite arrondissement for opera lovers. Not be missed, visit inside the Opera Garnier. Also the 9th arrondissement is one of the greatest places for shopping. With the Galeries Lafayette. The dome inside this department store is beautiful. Paris with family, visit the Museum Grevin. There are few excellent cafes and restaurants in this area, the Cafe des Capucines has an amazing decor. The Cafe de la Paix is very famous. Many well-known people have been to this cafe. It's very elegant.

The 10th arrondissement is where you find the Canal St-Martin. Build during the time of Napoleon. Take a boat. It's very pleasant. In this arrondissement there are two main train stations: Gare de l"Est and the Gare du Nord.

Paris 11th, 12th arrondissement

The 11th arrondissement is also well-known with the square de la Bastille. In the center, the July Column reminds us the stormy time of the French Revolution. The quarter of the 11th arrondissement is the place to find many concerts places, Le Bataclan, Le Cafe de la Danse and cafes concerts. The Museum of Edith Piaf displays photographs, letters, clothes of the famous singer.

12th arrondissement is also a part of the place de la Bastille. The Bois de Vincennes is the largest public park in Paris. The Parc Floral is a botanical garden inside the Bois de Vincennes. It's well-known for its amazing number of varieties of iris. You also find in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, the Opera Bastille, the Paris Bercy.

Paris 13th, 14th arrondissement 

The 13th arrondissement is the Chinese Quarter of Paris, Chinese superstores, Chinese restaurants. The Chinese New Year parade and festivals. The Gare d'Austerlitz is one of the main train station in Paris.

The 14th arrondissement is where you can visit the Catacombs of Paris on the Paris City map. The Gare Montparnasse is one of the six train stations in Paris. If you're looking for a revolving restaurant in Paris, there is the Ciel de Paris located at the top of the Tour Montparnasse.

Paris 15th, 16th arrondissement

The Paris Expo Porte de Versailles is one of the main exhibition centres of the Capital. Find the best trade fairs, the Agricultural Fair, the Chocolate fair and the Paris Auto fair. La Ruche was the residence of famous artists, writers and painters.

The 16th arrondissement is the arrondissement for main museums, the Musee de l'Homme, Museum Baccarat and the Palais de Tokyo. The Parc des Princes is the most famous stadium in Paris.

Paris 17th, 18th arrondisssement

The 17th arrondissement is mainly residential. The Palais des Congres is a famous venue in Paris. The Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile is one of the tallest buildings in Paris. You find vey nice views at the bar located at one of the top floors.

The 18th arrondissement is Montmartre and the Sacre-Coeur Basilica.

Paris 19th, 20th arrrondissement

The 19th arrondissement has these two parks great places for kids, the Parc de la Villette and the Parc des Buttes de Chaumont.

The 20th arrondissement is well-know for the Cemetery of Pere Lachaise. Where to see the tombs of Chopin, Proust, Pissarro and others.
