Jardin du Luxembourg
Paris

The history of the Jardin du Luxembourg started in 1611 when Marie de Medicis decided to build a palace in Paris. She decided to plant 2,000 elm trees and build the Medici Fountain. Now the Luxembourg Palace is the house of the French Senat.

The Gardens and the palace are located in the 6 th arrondissement of Paris, near the metro Odeon Mabillon and the RER Luxembourg.

It is the second largest public park in Paris with its 23 hectares.

The Jardin du Luxembourg is a typical garden for children. Family with kids like here specially for the playground, the pony rides, the puppet theater and the merry-go-round. A large pool is made for model and sailing boats.

The bandstand is the setting for concerts in which programs are displayed throughout the summer July, August and September at the park entranceboulevard Saint-Michel. Chess and bridge players meet regularly, even in winter.
