It is the second largest public park in Paris with its 23 hectares.
It counts a very large number of statues, in total 106 statues of famous people: Beethoven, Flaubert, Baudelaire, Frederic Chopin, a smaller Statue of Liberty, animal statues and statues from Greek mythology.
Beautiful gardens with flowers, green grass, with the calm atmosphere, it is the place in Paris for relaxing.
Opening hours: The garden is open depending on the length of the day light. In winter it opens around 8 am and close early around 4:30 pm and in the summer it opens at 7:30 am until 8 pm and 9pm in July.
The Jardin du Luxembourg is a typical garden for children. Family with kids like here specially for the playground, the pony rides, the puppet theater and the merry-go-round. A large pool is made for model and sailing boats.
The bandstand is the setting for concerts in which programs are displayed throughout the summer July, August and September at the park entrance boulevard Saint-Michel. Chess and bridge players meet regularly, even in winter.
The Jardin du Luxembourg is also the place for sports like tennis, basketball, martial arts. Did you know the Championship finals in France, the Jeu de paume, are held here the first Sunday in September.
