Located Northwest, Giverny Paris is just 80km away. Vernon to Giverny is around 6km. It's a nice day trip if you stay just few days in Paris or you can stay a night at the hotel in Giverny.

How to get to Giverny?

By car, just over 1 hour from Paris take the Highway A14 next to A13 and N15 to arrive at Giverny.

By train, from the Gare Station St-Lazarre trains run regularly to Vernon about 45minutes. Check the time online at www.sncf.com will cost you around 12Euros one way. After that take the bus or the taxi to Giverny.

By bike, rent one for the full day use the pathway for bike and pedestrians.

Monet House and Gardens

Fondation Claude Monet or Monet Gardens: Founder of the French Impressionist Claude Monet moved to Giverny with his family. You can visit his house and the gardens, surrounded by flowers and ponds. Giverny Paris is really beautiful from April to July.

Orientalist Water Gardens contain the water lilies and the Japanese bridge recognized in his paintings. Address of Fondation Claude Monet, rue Claude Monet 27620 Giverny. Open April 1 to november 1, 2011 every day from 9:30am to 6pm. Open on Public Holidays. First Sunday of each month is free.

Musee des impressionnismes Giverny 99 Rue Claude Monet. The Museum is closed until March 31 and will be reopened April 1, 2011. There is a restaurant cafe with a terrace in the gardens. Kids activities are organized at the museum.
