2 days in Paris

Spend 2 days in Paris isn't easy for new visitors. What to visit in Paris without wasting your time. Too much to see. Choose one museum, 1 or 2 attractions per day. Spend some time for shopping. Itinerary 1: Louvre Museum, Tuileries Garden, Opera Garnier, Galeries Lafayette, Eiffel Tower

Paris Day 1 

Start your 2 days in Paris visiting the Louvre Museum. Plan to stay half day. Go directly to the most famous Masterpieces in the Louvre: La Joconde, the Venus de Milo, the Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss and the painting The Coronation of Napoleon. 

Take a lunch nearby the Museum at the Cafe Marly. The restaurant brasserie is located under the arcades Richelieu. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the Museum and the glass Pyramid of the Louvre.

After lunch, direction the Tuileries Gardens. It is a famous garden in Paris between the Louvre Museum and the Concorde Square. Walk around Maillol sculptures, ponds and green grass.

For afternoon tea, the Angelina tearoom is a coffee shop and pastries. It cannot be missed. The Angelina is known for the best hot chocolate in Paris. Angelina is located on Rue de Rivoli (address: Angelina, 226 rue de Rivoli, Paris 1st arrondissement). 

On the evening, walk on the Champs-Elysees. If you are not too tired climb the stairs to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Discover the most beautiful view of the Avenue Champs-Elysees and look around.

Day 2

Start early your day 2. Visit the Opera de Paris, also called the Opera Garnier. Take a tour of the opera. It is one of the most beautiful attractions in Paris. Look at the Grand Staircase, the Grand Foyer and the Auditorium. 

There are many good restaurants and coffee shops near the opera: Chez Clement, the Cafe de la Paix and the Grand Cafe Capucines. Find also the Hypopotamus and a Starbucks Cafe near the Opera on Boulevard des Capucines.

You cannot come to Paris without taking some time for shopping. The Galeries Lafayette are located at a walking distance to the Opera. Discover the most famous and beautiful department store in Paris with a magnificent glass dome.

Don't miss an evening at the Eiffel Tower. Best view of Paris at night.

Itinerary 2: The Museum d'Orsay, Luxembourg Gardens, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Sainte-Chapelle, the Latin Quarter 

Paris Day 1

Start your 2 days in Paris at the Museum d'Orsay. Spend half day to see most famous paintings from well wellknown impressionists, Renoir, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Manet. Take a lunch at the restaurant of the Museum. And relax. Admire the beautiful interior, ceilings and mirrors. What a great place for lunch!

Walk to the Luxembourg Gardens. This park is the largest in Paris. Beautiful garden with flowers, fountains and statues. Free concerts in the Luxembourg Gardens during the Summer.

Visit Notre-Dame Cathedral and in the same area the Sainte-Chapelle Church. Most beautiful church with stained-glass windows. Both places host classical music concerts.

Walk to the Latin Quarter, Saint-Germain-des-Pres in Paris. There are too many choices between restaurants, cafes and brasseries. Le Procope, Shakespeare & Company. Find famous Jazz clubs in the Latin Quarter: Le Caveau des Oubliettes, Caveau des Legendes, Caveau de la Huchette. 

Day 2

Spend the full day in Versailles. Visit the palace and the gardens of Versailles. If you can stay for a show, The Fountains Night Show.

Itinerary 3: Rodin Museum, Les Invalides, Montmartre, Place des Vosges, the Marais, Les Halles, Beaubourg, Saint-Eustache church

Paris Day 1

Start your 2 days itinerary in Paris by visiting the Rodin Museum. The mansion and the gardens. The museum is famous for these works from Rodins, The Thinker, The Kiss.

Have a snack at the Musee Rodin Cafe. Walk from Rodin Museum to the Invalides. Discover the colossal sarcophagus of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Spend the rest of your afternoon in Montmartre. Another great place in Paris. Visit the Basilica Sacre Coeur, Place du Tertre, Bateau Lavoir. Walk the small streets where Van Gogh, Picasso and other famous painters have spent their life.

Day 2

Start your Day 2 at the Place des Vosges. Visit the oldest quarter Le Marais in Paris. You have time for a short visit to the Museum Carnavalet.

After direction Les Halles in Paris, Beaubourg Centre. Don't miss the church Saint-Eustache. One of the most beautiful churches in Paris. 

Finish your day in one of the best restaurants or cafes. Find Le Louchebem, Au Chien Qui Fume, Au Pied de Cochon and many others.
